This blog will seek to explore the effect the debasement of money has on us as Americans, the importance of protecting our property rights and the restoration of the right of freedom of association, which right alone protects and enshrines our liberty to be the family we choose to be in the community that we choose to live.
In writing that I am reminded of the 4-H pledge I spoke so often as a child: “I pledge my hands to greater service, my head to clearer thinking and my heart to greater loyalty for my club, my community and my country.” All these things are called for: service, clear thinking and loyalty to our family and friends.
I hope the conversations on this blog will be mostly about particular people, places and events and how Classical Liberals (nee Libertarians) would resolve particular conflicts and live among their neighbors according to Classical Liberal principals. That said, many Libertarians have a propensity to theorize about the general and to see all communities as an exercise in collectivism.
I expect there will be tension about how a Libertarian would live with her neighbors in certain situations as it is true that each person does forfeit a bit of autonomy to live successfully in any community.
Your comments are welcome. I encourage us all to be patient and kind with one another. I came to Classical Liberalism late in life; so I can understand how someone might not know the Federal Reserve is an evil institution.
I didn’t know it myself for most of my life.
